Due to the expansion of our Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre. We are looking for Nurses who are searching for opportunities to further develop their career and who possess excellent communication skills, strong team working skills and can evidence the delivery of good patient care. The ED prides itself on providing high quality, compassionate care and a desire to be amongst the best. Including in the expansion of new builds, the Acute Assessment Unit and ward have also been upgraded, this includes a 16 trolley spaces for direct GP heralded patients along with 2 ward areas for acute short stay medical admissions If you are dynamic, enthusiastic and looking for the next challenge to help build further on our reputation as one of the safest and best hospitals then this role may be for you? Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of patients from admission (or before) to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers. Participate in the ongoing training, supervision and support of registered and non-registered nursing staff. This includes Trainee Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Support Workers undertaking apprenticeships and pre-registration Student Nurses. Evaluation of own knowledge and practice and makes effective use of appropriate learning opportunities, such as department training, Trust training, conference attendance, shadow staff, literature searching and reading Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, utilise escalation strategies, such as SBAR and pathways We are not currently able to support OSCE training At East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, we are proud of the range of general and specialist services we provide and our 6,000 or so dedicated staff ensure our patients get the best care.
