Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Rehabilitation Assistant for its Home First & Reablement service based in the Forest of Dean (Cinderford, GL14). You will support people to return home after hospital stays, helping them regain independence by delivering clinical and personal care alongside a multi-disciplinary team. The role is locality-based, visiting people in their own homes, so a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. This permanent, part-time post is Agenda for Change Band 2 (salary £24,465–£26,598 pro rata), with core hours between 07:00 and 22:00; evening shifts such as 17:00–22:00 (4 on/4 off) are currently in demand. Applicants must have unrestricted right to work in the UK and will be subject to a DBS check.

This position is ideal for people new to care and for experienced carers looking for meaningful, flexible work that fits around family responsibilities. You will receive direct supervision, regular training and reflective practice, a structured development plan including the Care Certificate, and the chance to progress to Band 3 on qualification — plus the option to discuss a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship. The Trust values inclusivity and staff wellbeing, with strong colleague engagement and opportunities to shape care locally.
