Job description
As a Research Pharmacy Assistant at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) you will support the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Unit in the safe receipt, storage, dispensing and accountability of investigational and licensed medicines across several UCLH sites. You’ll work alongside dispensary technicians and pharmacists to help deliver leading clinical research in areas such as cancer, neurology, stroke, rheumatology and early‑phase medicine, helping patients access new treatments via study protocols. This permanent, full‑time Band 3 role (Agenda for Change) is based in NW1, London and pays £30,546–£32,207 per year (inclusive of HCAS). The job includes practical duties such as manual handling (lifting boxes up to 16–25kg), using pharmacy IT systems and MS Office, following SOPs and infection‑control practices, and is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
This vacancy is well suited to newly qualified graduates or carers with community healthcare or pharmacy experience who want a supportive, tight‑knit team and clear training pathways — the PCTU has an education lead to guide your development and UCLH promotes flexible working. Essential requirements include GCSE English or maths (or equivalent) and being qualified or working towards an NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services; applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available). If you’re motivated by practical, patient‑facing work within research and a trust that values safety, kindness, improvement and teamwork, click the "Apply Now" button next to this advert to apply — this vacancy is listed on jobsincare.com.
