Residential Support Worker roles in Barnstaple place you at the heart of an Ofsted‑registered children’s home, supporting young people with complex needs in a true home‑from‑home environment. You will follow individual care plans to promote safety, resilience and independence, building positive relationships and remaining calm and consistent in challenging situations. Shifts run on a three‑shift rota (AM 07:00–14:45, PM 14:30–22:00, nights/sleep‑ins 22:00–07:00) with full‑time (37 hours) and part‑time (27/30 hours) posts available; homes operate up to 365 days a year. The pay is competitive and transparent: £26,824–£28,598 per year (pro rata) plus enhancements up to £4,000 annually. Hourly rates start at £13.90 (rising to £14.82), with higher pay for overnight, Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday shifts (overnight £18.53–£19.76; Saturday £20.85–£22.23; Sunday/bank holiday £27.80–£29.64). Applicants must be DBS‑clear, able to fulfil spoken aspects of the role in English, hold a valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance; Visa sponsorship is not offered.
