Work as a Residential Support Worker in Devon County Council’s Ofsted-registered children’s homes in Okehampton (EX20), supporting children and young people with complex needs in a genuine home-from-home setting. You will follow individual care plans to help young people develop life skills, independence and emotional resilience; plan and join in activities; create a calm, positive atmosphere; and use creative, person-centred approaches to engage and motivate. The role suits compassionate, practical carers who are resilient, able to set clear boundaries and build trusting relationships—especially women who value hands-on, long-term support and the chance to see real progress day by day.

This is a permanent, full-time post paying £26,824–£28,598 per year with enhancements up to £4,000 per annum and flexible working options available. Essential requirements include GCSE-level numeracy and literacy, experience working with young people with complex needs and person‑centred planning, a DBS disclosure, confident spoken English and a valid UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and business insurance.
