Our extensive rotation programme spans the three main acute hospital sites in our trust:
Our Rotations Are Broad And Diverse Due To The Span Of Clinical Specialities Delivered By The Trust And Will Support You In Gaining Experience Across Core And Specialist Areas, Including

Upon joining us we will support you through your probation and your preceptorship year and will we guide you through your onward development as an Occupational Therapist. You will receive regular clinical supervision and training opportunities as well as the opportunity for band 5 peer support sessions.
The expectations we have of band 5 Occupational Therapists include:
hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. - General and specialist surgery
- Trauma
- Elective Orthopaedics
- Hand therapy
- Hyper-acute Stroke and Acute Stroke
- Inpatient Neurorehabilitation Unit
- Acute Medicine, including medical respiratory and renal
- Frailty
- Vascular surgery and outpatients

- To assess and treat patients, providing holistic Occupational Therapy intervention as an autonomous practitioner within Scope of Practice
- Develop Occupational Therapy treatment plans, demonstrating clear clinical reasoning and goal setting.
- To be clinically curious and work within the multidisciplinary environment of the acute hospital to provide excellent intervention for patients
- To support clinical supervision of Therapy Assistants and Students where appropriate
- To be an active member of the wider therapy and AHP team and advocate for their profession where appropriate
