Safeguarding Support Unit Crisis Worker at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust (Sheffield, S10) — permanent Band 4 role, offering flexible full-time, part-time or job‑share working and a salary of £27,485–£30,162 pro rata (with the Trust uplifting pay to meet the Real Living Wage). You’ll be based in the Safeguarding Support Unit and work within the Child Sexual Assault Assessment Service (CSAAS) providing calm, practical clinical support to children aged 0–16 and their families during acute, forensic and non‑recent assessments where concerns of rape or sexual abuse have been raised. The role is hands‑on and varied: assisting paediatric clinicians with assessments and examinations, supporting the collection and handling of forensic evidence, ensuring sensitive immediate aftercare, keeping accurate records and contributing to a trauma‑informed, multidisciplinary response. The post carries an on‑call rota that operates every day of the year, including weekends and bank holidays, so reliability and resilience are essential.

This opportunity suits experienced carers and safeguarding practitioners who hold NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and GCSE English and Maths at Level 2, with demonstrable experience of working with children and safeguarding concerns. You’ll be supported to develop your skills through local competency packages, training and strong clinical supervision in a trust recognised for its staff‑focused culture and high standards of care. Sheffield Children’s offers generous leave, pension and wellbeing benefits, an inclusive workplace and a family‑focused approach that particularly appeals to women seeking meaningful, flexible work in children’s health. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required. Find this vacancy on jobsincare.com and click the "Apply Now" button shown alongside this listing to submit your application.
