Woodside Medical Practice is a Medical Practice that prides itself on offering tailored care to a diverse patient list of 6500. We offer 15 minute appointments, flexible working, Clinical and Pastoral support and mentorship, great learning opportunities, sociable and supportive environment and the use of a private car park. The practice prides itself on its commitment to high quality care to its patients and support from our excellent clinical and administration teams. Competitive salary, plus opportunity to progress to Partnership. In addition, we offer 6 weeks annual leave. Duty session are based on one per 4 sessions of work. Study leave and CPD is included. 3:1 clinical to admin time.

Provision of General Medical Services, Enhanced Services and work with the Primary Care Network, in accordance with the GMS and other practice contracts. Continuing professional development opportunities, and regular practice meetings.

About us

This document outlines the core activities and tasks you will be expected to undertake whilst you are working at the Practice. You will be required to undertake all the reasonable duties of a GP including any surgeries, home visits, medical examinations and all other day to day clinical duties that a Doctor in the Practice undertakes. However, you are not required to be involved with other issues relating to the Practice administration such as financial planning and business matters.

Key Responsibilities:

AREA ASSOCIATED TASK/DUTY

General medical services

Providing healthcare and medical services to all patients

Participate in Duty GP rota, when scheduled

Travel within the practice area to attend home visits, when required

Dealing with paperwork, correspondence and test results associated with patient care

Providing choice the patients who are being referred for Secondary Care

For the purpose of patient care and the Quality & Outcomes Framework, maintain accurate records electronically within agreed Practice procedures

Participate in and operate clinical governance methods and systems approved by the Partnership or Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ICS

Dealing with medication queries raised by patients; along with prescribing and onward referral to internal and external clinicians, where appropriate

Review, action and complete tasks that are received by other members of the clinical and/or administration team that are pertinent to the effective care of patients

Follow-up results, x-rays and correspondence that you have generated yourself

Working relationships

Liaising with other members of the Primary Care Health Team and other agencies as appropriate, to ensure good relationships are maintained at all times with patients, colleagues and other agencies, including the pharmacy first service

Non-NHS related work

Carry out work considered outside the NHS, such as medical examinations, certificates and reports

Continuing professional development both scheduled in hours and at externally arranged learning events

Maintaining a high standard of care to patients by showing a commitment to continuing professional development and by participation in clinical meetings and Practice development days

Meetings

You will participate in monthly Clinical Meetings to review care provided to a range of patients
