Job description
Senior Administrator at HMP Garth (Practice Plus Group Health in Justice) — lead the growing administrative function supporting all healthcare pathways at a Category B male prison in Leyland (PR26 8NE). This permanent, full-time role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:00–16:00) with a salary of £29,264–£33,510 per annum (depending on experience). You will line-manage the admin team, take minutes for Senior Leadership Team meetings and turn data into clear presentations, book and coordinate internal and external appointments (including hospital visits), maintain accurate patient records using SystmOne, and work across primary care, mental health and substance misuse pathways. Daily duties include dealing with patients, colleagues and external professionals by phone, email and face-to-face in a secure environment caring for around 1,500 men.
This role suits experienced supervisors or administrators — healthcare admin experience and familiarity with systems such as SystmOne or EMIS are advantageous, as is confidence with data, reporting and database management. Practice Plus Group will support you with a bespoke induction (including Introducing Health in Justice), a competency framework, an online Learning Management System and regional and national development routes. Benefits include a company pension, 25 days annual leave rising to 28 with service plus bank holidays, wellbeing and lifestyle discounts, 24/7 employee assistance and financial support when needed. Offers are subject to UK right to work checks, DBS and additional security vetting.
