Kindness sits at the heart of this Senior Care Assistant role at HC‑One in Thirsk (YO7). You will plan and deliver person‑centred care that protects residents’ dignity, independence and wellbeing — from helping someone use a walking frame or supporting a person at the end of life with gentle mealtime assistance, to administering medication and running meaningful social activities. As a senior member of the team you’ll lead and coach care assistants, maintain accurate records, liaise with families and work alongside the Registered Nurse and Care Manager to ensure consistently high standards, with particular focus on dementia care and safeguarding.

This permanent, full‑time post pays £14.75–£15.35 per hour and includes a £1,000 welcome bonus, a 3 on/3 off rota covering day or night 8‑hour shifts, and a wide package of support such as paid DBS, free uniform, a meal on shifts of eight hours or more, pension, 28 days’ annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, GP online access, Wagestream and award‑winning learning and development (support to achieve NVQ Level 3). The role suits experienced carers — ideally with Level 2 (or Level 3) qualifications and a background in person‑centred and dementia care — who bring warmth, strong communication and good record‑keeping skills.
