Lead a clinical procurement portfolio at Whittington Health, driving projects across clinical consumables and medical devices to deliver cash-releasing savings and service improvements for Partner Trusts. This Senior Category Manager (Band 8a, £64,156–£71,148 pa incl HCAS) is a permanent, full‑time role based at Whittington Health, London N19 5NF. You will provide expert procurement advice to clinicians and senior leaders, shape category strategy with the Assistant Director – Procurement, run eTendering competitions, negotiate complex contracts and ensure compliance with UK procurement law, Trust Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders. The post requires a DBS check and applications from those needing Skilled Worker sponsorship are welcome.
This role is for an experienced healthcare procurement professional – ideally CIPS-qualified or working towards it, with a first degree or extensive practical experience and a track record of delivering clinical consumables and devices procurements at ICB or multi‑Trust level. You’ll gain real influence over product standardisation and patient-facing services, with clear CPD and development expectations and the chance to raise the profile of the Procurement and Purchasing Service.
