Band 8a: £61,927 to £68,676 a year Per annum, including high cost area + £5000 R&R (pro rata)  FIXEDTERM  GOOD SALARY 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified clinical vascular scientist to take a step into a more senior roll for this maternity cover post. This role would be ideal for someone looking to develop their existing skills into more advanced clinical techniques like scanning renal arteries, dialysis grafts and transcranial Doppler, as well as taking an active role in teaching and training of STP trainees and others.

The post-holder will scan and report independently on the full range of vascular ultrasound investigations, as well as contributing to training pathways for STP trainees and monitoring trainee progress.

We will expect candidates to be HCPC registered clinical scientists OR accredited with CSVS (formerly SVT) as a minimum, but additional supervision can be provided as necessary.

Even though this is a temporary post you will encouraged to get involved with activities outside of direct patient care and will be provided with protected time during the working week to do this. This might include research or audit projects, teaching and training of junior staff and other health professionals or personal and professional development such as observations in clinics or and operating theatre and more.

About us

  • Performing and reporting on peripheral vascular ultrasound investigations and the interesting and varied pathology seen in a tertiary referral centre, including, renal artery duplex scanning, dialysis access fistulas, transcranial imaging for children with sickle cell disease, as well as ultrasound guidance for interventional procedures.
