Work as a Senior Healthcare Assistant with Marie Curie at North Middlesex University Hospital (N18), supporting patients in the Emergency Department with palliative and end-of-life care. You will work alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialist to deliver hands-on personal care, maintain skin integrity, assist with nutrition assessments, monitor observations and support patients’ comfort, rest and dignity. The role involves discharge planning and close liaison with community teams to ensure people return to their preferred place of care, contributing to individual assessments and advanced care plans within a multidisciplinary team. This permanent position is Agenda for Change Band 3 (£24,937–£26,598 plus high‑cost area supplement), with flexible full- and part-time hours (Monday–Friday start, including weekends as the service grows) and subject to an enhanced DBS check.

This role is ideal for caring, organised individuals — particularly those with recent NHS or health and social care experience; an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential. You’ll need to be a clear, sensitive communicator who can prioritise patients’ comfort and privacy, use basic IT and electronic health records, and feel confident supporting families at difficult times. Marie Curie offers a strong benefits package including a matched pension contribution (up to 7.5%), 27 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata), career development and industry-leading training, staff discounts and wellbeing support.
