PERMANENT
Job description
Senior Healthcare Support Worker at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in Scarborough (YO12), supporting elective day surgery on Haldane and Lloyd wards and linked with the pre‑operative assessment team. The role is expanding to include benign non‑surgical urological treatments across Scarborough and Bridlington, offering a real chance to broaden clinical skills and work alongside York day surgery colleagues. This permanent, full‑time Band 3 position (£24,937–£26,598 per annum) requires competence in Band 3 tasks such as venepuncture, 12‑lead ECG and routine observations, and suits a compassionate, reliable carer who values hands‑on patient contact. The service is primarily Monday–Friday daytime, giving an excellent work/life balance, with optional paid weekend waiting‑list initiatives; please note interviews are held in person at the hospital and the closing date for applications is 06 December 2025.
The Trust offers a supportive culture and a strong benefits package including the NHS Pension Scheme, 27–33 days holiday (depending on service), generous relocation support for eligible appointments (up to 30% of salary, capped at £18,000), an Employee Assistance Programme, learning and development opportunities, and staff discounts. The organisation champions inclusive values — “we are kind; we are open; and we pursue excellence” — and will consider flexible working and reasonable adjustments. If you’re a caring professional seeking daytime hours, on‑the‑ward development and a people‑centred workplace, click the "Apply Now" button (appearing alongside this description) to apply via jobsincare.com.
