Job description
As a Children's Senior Occupational Therapist with Surrey County Council you will lead a complex caseload delivering assessments, specialist equipment advice and recommendations for major and minor adaptations to support children and young people across Surrey. This permanent, full‑time (36 hours/week) community‑based hybrid role involves home visits, working from home and using council offices in Reigate (Woodhatch Place) or Woking (Victoria Gate) as needed. You will work within an experienced multi‑disciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, social workers and support workers under the supervision of an Occupational Therapy Team Manager, with access to formal and informal learning, supervision and scope to shape creative, person‑centred solutions that improve daily independence and safety for families.
The starting salary is £47,884 (pro‑rated for 36 hours) and the package includes 26 days' holiday rising to 28 days after two years and 31 days after five years, the option to buy up to 10 additional days, a generous local government pension, up to five days' carer’s leave, two paid volunteering days, an Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing discounts. This role is ideal for experienced children's OTs or those with children's social care OT experience who hold an Occupational Therapy degree and HCPC registration; because Surrey covers both urban and rural areas you will need a valid UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel. Surrey County Council is a Disability Confident employer and the post will transfer to the new unitary councils in 2027 on current terms.
