Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Sister / Charge Nurse (Band 7) to lead and shape emergency care in the Emergency Department at Odstock Road, Salisbury (SP2 8BJ). This pivotal, hands-on leadership role sits within a department in transition—new senior leadership, a Band 7 development programme and coaching support mean you’ll directly influence service redesign (including plans for a co‑located Urgent Treatment Centre) across a designated Trauma Unit seeing around 50,000 attendances a year. You will work alongside the ED Matron, Lead Clinician and Service Manager to provide clinical leadership, manage and develop a junior nursing team, lead on OD & people matters and drive measurable improvements in patient pathways.
You’ll be an experienced emergency nurse (Band 6 experience essential) with proven leadership, ALS and TNCC (or equivalent), Teaching & Assessing qualification and a post‑registration Emergency Nursing qualification — and be willing to undertake a Masters if required; current UK registration and DBS checks apply. This permanent Band 7 post (£47,810–£54,710 pa, pro rata for part‑time) offers flexible working options, a minimum of 35 days’ holiday (pro rata), NHS discounts, a generous pension, on‑site nursery and leisure facilities — ideal for carers seeking a supportive, family‑friendly employer with real development opportunities.
