As a Senior Social Work Practitioner with Leicestershire County Council based at the Hinckley Hub, you will support the Team Manager to deliver a high-quality Child in Need service across Hinckley and Bosworth. The role focuses on intensive, strengths-based and trauma-informed family support — working in homes to build parenting capacity, resilience and community networks so more children can remain safely at home. You will undertake child protection activity including Section 47 enquiries, use performance data to inform practice, make sound decisions under pressure and contribute to consistent professional relationships that lead to better outcomes for children and families. An enhanced DBS check is required.

This post is for an experienced, Level 3 children’s social worker registered with Social Work England (CQSW/DipSW or SWE-approved degree), with experience in access/duty, Child in Need, child protection, care proceedings and looked-after children work, and supervising students. It’s a permanent, full-time role (37 hours) with salary £43,860–£47,829 pa (pro rata for part-time) and flexible working options to help balance caring responsibilities.
