As a Senior Support Worker with Salutem Care and Education in Plymouth (full-time, permanent, £13.95–£15.05 per hour), you’ll lead hands-on, person-centred support that helps children, young adults and vulnerable people live with greater independence and dignity. Day-to-day you’ll develop and maintain detailed support plans, run activity programmes that encourage choice and new experiences, support medication self-administration and financial planning, and ensure health reviews and environments meet legal and safety standards including the Mental Capacity Act. You’ll also recruit, mentor and supervise staff, manage rotas and training, and oversee quality assurance and incident procedures — a role for carers who are organised, compassionate, confident communicators and keen to step into a leadership position. If you don’t meet every bullet point, you’re still encouraged to apply; values, empathy and potential matter here as much as experience.

Salutem offers a genuinely supportive working culture tailored to those juggling caring responsibilities — 24/7 employee assistance, mental health and menopause support, free online GP access, a Health Cash Plan, flexible pay via Wagestream and practical schemes like Cycle to Work and gym discounts. The organisation is Disability Confident and nationally recognised as a Top Employer, with many Good or Outstanding homes, structured training and clear routes for progression, so your career and wellbeing are looked after.
