What does this Senior Support Worker job involve? Hours of Work:25 - 48 Hours Per Week - Shifts 07:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 Key Role Responsibilities • Provide personal care and support with daily living activities (e.g., washing, dressing, toileting, feeding). • Ensure service user safety and wellbeing, responding effectively to emergencies and escalating concerns appropriately. • Follow and implement individual care plans and risk assessments, maintaining accurate records of care and observations. • Support service users with domestic tasks, meal preparation, medication collection, and financial errands as outlined in care plans. • Promote engagement and comfort through meaningful activities, outings, and companionship. • Liaise with healthcare professionals and senior staff to deliver coordinated care. • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and adhere to company protocols and CQC standards. • Communicate clearly and compassionately with service users, colleagues, and management. • Work flexibly to meet service demands and participate in training and team meetings. Essential Requirements • Clear CRB and background check • Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes with business insurance or willing to have one • Care Certificate • NVQ Level 2/3 or work towards to it • 3 years + experience in health and social care Desirable requirements • Certified in First Aid, Food Hygiene Certification and Manual Handling. Person specification • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Competent in literacy, numeracy, report writing, and using relevant computer systems. • Flexible and committed to meeting service user needs. • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently under pressure. • Capable of handling sensitive personal care and basic life tasks (e.g., cooking, cleaning, budgeting). • Physically fit for manual handling duties. • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities. • Adaptable, innovative, and eager to learn new skills.
