Work as a Band 3 Senior Theatre Support Worker based at Tunbridge Wells (Pembury Hospital), supporting patients through their perioperative journey across 11 theatres covering specialties from ENT and gynaecology to trauma, paediatrics and obstetrics. You’ll bring patients to theatre, check documentation, apply monitoring in the anaesthetic room, assist the scrub team, clear and restock between cases and carry out portering duties. As a senior you’ll hold an area of responsibility and be central to training new staff. The post normally requires at least two years’ theatre experience; if you don’t yet hold a nationally recognised Care Certificate or an NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare Support you can start at Band 2 and the Trust will support on-the-job training to complete the Care Certificate during probation (minimum three months, up to six), progressing to Band 3 on successful completion. Shifts include days, long days, weekends and nights. Please note this vacancy is currently open to staff working within the Kent and Medway ICS only.

This permanent, full-time role pays £24,937–£26,598 per annum pro rata and sits within a well-regarded Trust that values flexible working and staff development — an attractive opportunity for carers, particularly women seeking meaningful clinical work with clear progression. Benefits include at least 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), membership of the NHS Pension Scheme with a 20.6% employer contribution, Blue Light Card eligibility, and a comprehensive corporate and clinical induction (including a two-week Clinical Induction Programme and supernumerary shifts); appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
