Job description
Work as a Service Liaison Assistant at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, based in Rotherham (S60), supporting the Urgent Community Hub on a part-time, 30 hours per week basis. You will be the first point of contact for patients and clinical staff within a 24/7 service that helps keep people at home and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. Day-to-day responsibilities include answering and managing calls, accurately logging patient details and locations on electronic records, liaising closely with the Nursing/Triage Team, responding to queries with sensitivity and professionalism, and maintaining strict confidentiality. You will need to remain calm under pressure, use your initiative, and work well as part of a team to make sure calls are handled promptly and correctly.
This permanent, flexible Band 2 post (salary £24,465 per annum pro rata) is ideal for carers and women seeking a caring role with practical hours that fit around family and life commitments. Experience in a busy office environment—ideally within the NHS—good written and spoken English, GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), basic IT skills (Word/Excel) and familiarity with electronic patient records are essential; knowledge of medical terminology and NHS System 1 is desirable. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required and sponsorship is not available for Band 2 roles. The Trust values an ambitious, caring culture and recognises colleagues through awards and improvements in staff engagement.
