Support a lovely young woman with complex needs as a female Sleep‑in Support Worker for UKCIL in PR3 (Preston). This permanent, part‑time role is 24 hours a week, working 2 x 12‑hour sleep‑in nights (Mon & Tues, 21:00–09:00) alongside a waking night colleague to provide 2:1 care for a client with an acquired brain injury and epilepsy. You’ll monitor seizure activity, administer medication (including PEG), assist with hoisting and personal care, help with night routines, feeding and repositioning, and keep the home safe and hygienic. The role is based in a family home in a rural location so a valid driving licence and vehicle are required; enhanced DBS clearance, physical fitness and emotional resilience are essential. Due to the client’s personal care needs and family preferences this post is open to female applicants only; no prior experience is necessary as full training is provided.

Pay is competitive at £13.48–£17 per hour (around £21k p.a. pro rata), with pay structured as higher rates for awake hours (typically £16–£17 for 4 awake hours plus minimum wage for 8 sleep hours) and a £2/hr weekend uplift where relevant. Benefits include a pension, one week’s full sick pay then SSP, ongoing accredited training (Acquired Brain Injury, Epilepsy Awareness, PEG medication administration, manual handling/hoisting, safeguarding, MCA/GDPR and more) and opportunities to cover extra night or day shifts. Sleep‑in shifts include rest periods but will be reclassified to waking nights if support is needed more than three times; you may also be asked to step into waking duties to maintain continuity of care.
