This is a full-time fixed term contract for 16 months starting in December 2025/January 2026 depending on the successful candidate.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our progressive, pharmacy team. Your role would be to provide high quality pharmaceutical care to inpatient and community mental health service users in Leeds by way of clinical interventions, medicines information and education and training. We have four sites across Leeds each with a subspeciality, you will gain extensive experience at working at one or more of these sites.


You will ideally have had some experience of working in secondary care although not essential. Good organisational and communication skills are essential as is an interest in mental health. Applications from those working in all sectors welcome.


We will support your personal and continued professional development in general and mental health through our in-house training.





As a specialist clinical pharmacist in LYPFT, you will develop medicines knowledge and skills to advise clinical and healthcare teams on the safe and appropriate use of mental health medicines. You will have a clinical role working with ward / community hub clinical teams and work independently to support medicines optimisation for service users of LYPFT. You will have opportunities to develop your training skills and educate yourself and others with regards to mental health medicines, develop your leadership and operational management skills and take part in quality improvement and service developments. We have a range of general and specialist mental health services including inpatient Adult and Older Peoples, Forensic, Recovery and Rehabilitation and community and primary care mental health services to the population of Leeds, forensic and CAMHS services to the population of York and tertiary specialist services such as Child and Adolescent Services and the National Inpatient Centre for Psychological Medicine for you to gain exposure of and experience within.





The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. As a teaching trust with strong links to local universities, we are a centre of excellence for teaching, research and development.
