Job Summary
We are a department that welcomes Doctors that wish to be part of an expanding workforce and can offer a skill mix to suit both current practices as well as develop new services. Provide dermatology care to patients in an acute setting.
To work as part of an integrated team working with other Dermatologists and specialist nurses and clinicians in secondary care delivering care to dermatology patients within the service. This post is aimed at dermatologists who have an interst in paediatrics as its an element of our service where we are looking for a proactive skilled dermatologist to assess and treat Paediatrics. The base is UHND however we run our service across multiple sites so travel will be expected for this role.
Main duties of the job
To carry out clinics in dermatology to diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions in children in secondary care setting
To advice and liase with primary care in patients management to contribute to the on call rota as well as flexability to travel as we operate on a multi site service. Have good verbal, written and electronic communication skills
Ability to safely and confidently prioritise patients presenting problems
Ability to identify and assess complex problems
Good organisational skills
Knowledge of local services
Experience of telephone consultations
Positive approach to change
Flexible to service needs
Willing to undertake statutory and mandatory training.
To play an active role in patient safety and governance issues.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Person Specification
Statutory Registration Essential
- Registered with, or eligible for Full/Ltd Registration with GMC
- Ability to diagnose and manage skin conditions and lesions
- Good,oral,written and IT skills
- Good organisational skills
- Management Skills
- Able to manage own time to suit the workload
- Able communicate effectively at all levels
- Paediatric Experience
- Hold appropriate medical qualification to practice medicine in the UK
- Fully registered with the GMC and hold current licence to practice
- Registered on regional performance list with no restrictions
- Willingness and ability to participate equally in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proven ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to liaise well with colleagues in other specialties.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good discipline and motivation.
