Speech and Language Therapist Band 5We are looking for a full time, Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapy within Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
The post is static in the acute service in Croydon University Hospital covering all medical, elderly care and surgical wards including Intensive Care. There will be raining and support to develop full dysphagia competencies . We have FEES and VF service.
The job will require you to carry an appropriate caseload across the Acute environment and to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge clients referred with communication and swallowingdifficulties
To work as a member of the team, to provide an efficient, effective and co-ordinated Speech and Language Therapy Service.
Interview Date:TBC1. To provide a high quality speech and language therapy service to adults in hospital.2. To manage and prioritise a defined caseload independently.3. To assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders and make appropriate clinical decisions, including differential diagnosis, following assessment.4. To be able to reflect on all aspects of the adult's communication and to identify appropriate strategies to enhance communicative effectiveness.5. To communicate complex and sensitive condition related information from assessment to clients, carers, families and members of the multi-disciplinary team/other professonals6. To accurately document and maintain high standard of clinical notes.
