Job description
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapists to join a vibrant and supportive team in a full-time, Band 5 role. This unique rotational position offers the chance to work across various settings, including acute medical, stroke rehabilitation, and neurorehabilitation wards at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital, and Glenfield Hospital. Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced professional with a keen interest in acute care, this role provides an excellent platform to develop specialist skills, with the added bonus of indulging in abundant team spirit (and perhaps a slice of cake!). As part of your responsibilities, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to treat adults facing acquired communication and swallowing disorders, contributing to patient-centred care and gaining exposure to conditions like dementia, stroke, and cancer.
The allure of this position goes beyond the everyday dynamism of acute care. You’ll benefit from a nurturing environment with ample opportunities for professional growth, including regular peer supervision, annual appraisals, joint working possibilities, and both in-house and external training courses. Expect an empowering start with intensive in-house dysphagia training and the opportunity to engage with a broader network of colleagues across Leicestershire. This role promises not only an enriching career path but also the support of a dedicated team, committed to helping you achieve your professional goals. Ready to embark on this rewarding journey?
