Job description
Play a vital part in improving patient care as an IT Support Officer with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, based at Glan Clwyd Hospital (LL17). You will join the Optimisation Team to support, maintain and optimise clinical and non‑clinical systems — from Electronic Patient Records and Patient Administration Systems to diagnostic reporting tools. The role is hands‑on: diagnose and resolve incidents, manage user accounts, assist with upgrades and new rollouts, keep accurate service records and escalate complex faults. Working closely with nursing and clinical teams, you’ll translate technical issues into clear, supportive guidance that helps frontline staff deliver safe, efficient care. This permanent, full‑time Band 4 post pays £27,898–£30,615 and requires DBS clearance; sponsorship enquiries are considered where applicable.
This post suits pragmatic problem‑solvers who’ve provided ICT support in healthcare or similarly regulated settings and who thrive under pressure while staying organised and empathetic. You’ll be supported to learn local systems and ITIL processes, with opportunities for professional development, BCS membership, agile and flexible working, generous pension contributions, up to 34 days holiday plus bank holidays, and schemes such as Cycle to Work and car leasing. Betsi Cadwaladr champions equality, welcomes Welsh applications and operates under the Disability Confident scheme.
