Job description
Support Worker – Chippenham | £12.34 per hour, full time, permanent. You’ll work a mix of shifts (07:00–14:15, 14:15–21:30 or 07:00–21:30) across the week, including some weekends, supporting residents in a friendly residential service. The role is very hands‑on: you’ll assist with personal care, teach life skills such as cooking or budgeting, encourage social and community access, and plan activities ranging from trips to local pubs and the cinema to quiet evenings playing video games or watching films. Practical, compassionate support helps people build confidence and independence — for example helping someone make a meal on their own or supporting a first holiday away from home.
This opportunity suits caring, patient people who want real responsibility and steady hours, and it’s ideal for women and carers seeking flexible, meaningful work with career progression. No prior experience is required — full training and ongoing development are provided, plus promotion prospects within Voyage Care. Benefits include an extra 50p per hour for evenings and weekends (Ts & Cs apply), an additional £1 per hour on premium overtime, Wagestream access to draw up to 40% of earned pay, a funded Blue Light Card, a 24/7 doctor line for colleagues and families, cash plans that also cover dependants, enhanced retirement leave and long service awards. All offers are subject to satisfactory DBS checks and references. Click the “Apply Now” button alongside this advert to apply and find the full listing on jobsincare.com.
