£13.85 per hour  PERMANENT

Cygnet

Support colleagues at Cygnet’s new Deaf community step‑down service in Blackburn, delivering hands‑on care and rehabilitation for d/Deaf men with mental health needs. This full‑time role (42 hrs/week) works on a mixed shift rota of 3–4 x 12‑hour shifts, paying £13.85 per hour. You’ll use native BSL or Signature Level 2 daily to empower service users, assist with medical and welfare needs, maintain a safe, homely environment in a small five‑bed setting (Vincent Court), and help people progress from inpatient care back into independent life. Enhanced DBS is required; video applications are accepted.

This role particularly suits compassionate carers who sign or are willing to train in BSL, and who want meaningful, visible impact within a close‑knit team. Cygnet offers apprenticeships, regular coaching, flexible working with overtime opportunities, and a range of staff benefits — ideal for someone balancing family and work while building a long‑term career in mental health.
