He particularly likes exploring in the garden among the flowers and trees, sitting on a swing and playing in sand and water. He likes sitting and reading books with an adult, his favorite being Stickman by Julia Donaldson. He enjoys listening to Youtube simple songs, being tickled and cuddled but most of all he loves his snacks!! Within the family he has two older brothers, 14 and 11, a pet black Labrador called Buddy and a Mommy and Daddy who all love him so very much! Diagnosed with Autism; he has developmental delay and is pre-verbal. We would love to have a PA that can really get to know him and help nurture his progress, we’d like someone special to form a great relationship that will support him with his needs. These include Speech and Language, Occupational therapy needs to help with sensory input and play skills to encourage shared engagement. Uses PECs for some communication and he will lead and gesture to what he wants too. He has a good understanding of simple language, but can display a high level of anxiety resulting in him being very timid, needing koala hugs to avoid him pinching himself. He will also be receiving therapy for this. He will also be using an AAC device to help aid his communication and a PA would need to model this during frequent intervention. Currently is still in pads and is at the beginning of his toilet training so support with self-care is also essential. We are looking for a special person that wants to make a huge difference to a little person’s life and help them along their journey to reach their full potential. We would love to find someone that can help on weekends and during the holidays and for their time together be proactive into making him thrive. We are happy to discuss pay and flexible hours.
