As part of Orbis Education and Care, Priority Childcare provides specialist support to young people who may have experienced childhood trauma, face mental health challenges, or both. At Blaen Y Waun, you’ll be part of a nurturing and welcoming team dedicated to helping every child feel safe, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals. A day in the life of a Support Worker at Blaen Y Waun: - Supporting children and young people’s emotional and physical needs in a safe, caring environment. - Acting as a positive role model, encouraging independence and confidence. - Supporting with school, social and work-based activities, as well as community outings. - Tailoring support to meet individual needs and development plans. - Recording progress, activities, and any incidents clearly and accurately. - Helping with everyday tasks such as meal preparation and general household duties. What you’ll need: - A compassionate, resilient, and caring nature. - A valid driving licence (essential). - Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Previous care experience is helpful but not essential – full training is provided. Please note: This role involves regulated activity with children and requires an Enhanced DBS with a barred list check.
