Discovery is currently seeking Support Workers to empower the independence of one gentleman with Learning Disabilities and Autism in his home in Chard. The gentleman we support has epilepsy and learning disabilities, he enjoys a wide range of activities both at home and in the local area. Activities Support Workers may take part in with him include: - Helping with meal planning so he can stay on track with his slimming world mission - Going swimming at the local pool on a Tuesday and Thursday - Visits to The Barley Mow or local Wetherspoon's for coffee and a spot of lunch - Late evenings getting lost in episodes of Police Interceptors and The Chase! - Spending time with him at his favourite day service - Enabling independence by assisting with day-to-day tasks (which include - but are not limited to - finances, shopping, cooking & personal care) This gentleman loves to know what is going on in the world around him. He likes to keep up to date with current affairs and know what his support workers get up to! Part time contacts available - 20 hours per week Shift Patterns: 7am - 2.30pm, 2.30pm - 10pm & sleep in 10pm - 7am, you will also need to be able to work alternate weekends Discovery is proud to be successfully accredited by the Great Places To Work Programme for the forth year in row in 2024.
