Self-employed Support Worker (No Personal Care) — Ref ES691. Support a friendly woman in her early 40s, a mum of four living in Eastbourne, who needs practical help and companionship to rebuild confidence. This role focuses on community access (appointments and support groups), assistance with letters and paperwork, light housekeeping, shopping, cooking, transport and looking after pets — there is no personal care involved. You will be helping her manage day-to-day tasks at a gentle pace because back and leg pain mean she needs regular breaks; your patient, respectful and upbeat approach will be central to creating a trusting relationship.

This is a part‑time, on‑site role (around 4 hours per week; days and times to be agreed). A driving licence and your own vehicle are essential. The post is offered on a self‑employed basis — please apply with your usual self‑employment rate as hourly pay is to be discussed — though the employer may offer an employed contract (with holiday pay) depending on suitability. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. You should be comfortable with pets and with the employer occasionally smoking in the home, be reliable, organised, able to work on your own initiative and maintain confidentiality.
