Support Worker with Voyage Care in Bursledon, Southampton — permanent, part‑time role paying £12.75 per hour with typical shifts of 7.30–15.30 and 14.30–22.00 on a rota that includes weekends. You’ll work in a friendly residential service helping people to gain independence through personal care, life‑skills coaching, community access and social activities — from popping to a local café or pub to enjoying films or video games at home. The role is hands‑on and varied: supporting day‑to‑day routines, following Positive Behaviour Support plans, encouraging social inclusion and helping people meet goals such as cooking independently or going on holiday. All offers are subject to satisfactory DBS checks and references.

This role will suit caring, practical people — and is particularly appealing to women carers who value meaningful work, flexibility and development. A full UK driving licence is required for this service; experience with behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories or trauma and reflective practice is desirable but not essential, as Voyage Care provides a structured induction and ongoing training with clear progression routes. Benefits include enhanced evening and weekend pay (+£0.50/hr), premium overtime (+£1/hr), Wagestream access, a funded Blue Light Card, a 24/7 doctor line, colleague cash plans, enhanced retirement leave and long‑service awards. Some roles may require a specific gender where it is a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010.
