As a Theatres Nurse with NHS Professionals Limited based at Southampton General Hospital (SO16 6YD) you will support anaesthetic, scrub or recovery teams in a busy teaching hospital. The role asks you to deliver individualised, evidence‑based care, assess and respond to changing patient needs, administer complex intravenous therapies within guidelines, troubleshoot theatre equipment, and contribute to safe patient transfers and record keeping. You will also teach and mentor learners and junior staff, working alongside a multi‑professional team in specialties such as neurosciences, cardiac and paediatrics.
This is a bank Band 5 post offering flexible hours — full‑time, part‑time or ad hoc shifts — with pay from £19.33 to £30.93 per hour depending on shift. Bank benefits include prompt weekly pay, first choice of shifts at the Trust, holiday accrual for every shift, smartphone shift booking and 24/7 support. Applicants need a Nursing or ODP degree, current NMC or HCPC registration and at least six months’ anaesthetic/scrub/recovery experience in a UK hospital within the last two years.
