Job description
Make a tangible difference to patients' recovery as a Tobacco Dependency Advisor with Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, based in Maidstone (ME16). This part‑time, permanent Band 3 role (0.6 WTE, three days a week, Monday–Friday office hours) involves delivering stop‑smoking advice and support sessions, advising on stop‑smoking medications, taking referrals (including self‑referrals), and running post‑discharge telephone follow‑ups to provide continuity of care. You will work across Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals as required, contribute to service development, collect routine data and build strong relationships with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams. The post is currently only advertised to staff working within the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System and will require an Enhanced DBS and the Trust induction.
This opportunity suits someone with experience of working with patients, excellent people skills and a passion for supporting behaviour change — clinical qualifications aren’t essential, and Level 2 Stop Smoking Advisor training will be provided and maintained annually. Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a top‑ranked employer in the South East, offers flexible working, a generous NHS pension (20.6% employer contribution), at least 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), and a supportive induction and benefits package. If you’re a caring, organised communicator who likes hands‑on patient contact and steady hours that fit family life, click the "Apply Now" button to apply — you can also find this vacancy on jobsincare.com.
