Make a direct, practical difference to people living with diabetes as a Trainee Health Screener Grader with InHealth Group, based in South Manchester (M50). You will travel to community clinics across Salford, Stockport, Trafford and Tameside & Glossop, starting on £24,523 with a pay rise once you complete your Health Screener Diploma. The role is hands‑on: welcoming and putting patients at ease, carrying out safety checks, maintaining camera equipment, safely administering pupil‑dilating drops and taking detailed retinal photographs, and identifying any urgent referrals. Full on‑the‑job training is provided and there are clear career pathways within diabetic eye screening, from screener/grader roles through to specialist and leadership posts with salaries up to around £45,000.

This position is ideal for compassionate, practical people‑carers — particularly women seeking rewarding, community‑focused work — who are calm when taking close‑up images, enjoy working with the public and can be flexible for occasional evenings or weekends. You’ll need a full driving licence and access to a car for travel between clinics, and the role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. InHealth works closely with the NHS and offers structured support and meaningful training so you can build a valued career preventing sight loss.
