FIXEDTERM
Job description
Ward Clerk - Children's Ward at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust, based at Furness General Hospital in Barrow-in-Furness (LA14). This fixed‑term, 12‑month part‑time role (Band 2, £24,465 per annum pro rata) makes you the first port of call for children, young people, their families and hospital staff. You will provide a warm, professional welcome, handle sensitive and confidential enquiries with tact and reassurance, and deliver essential clerical and administrative support to the ward team. Strong clerical skills and computer literacy are required; full training on the hospital system will be given. The post-holder must be able to prioritise work, use their initiative and work well as part of a team. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required.
This opportunity will suit compassionate carers and women looking for a meaningful, family‑friendly role where good communication and a calm manner matter as much as administrative ability.
