Following service relocation and service improvementprojects CDDFT Wheelchair Services are recruiting a Service Assistant (Band 3).The role of Wheelchair Service Assistant will be to supportthe team clinically and with administrative duties.We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, dynamic andhighly organised individual to fill this role and contribute to the ongoingdevelopment of this service.The role will be based at the Wheelchair Services Departmentwithin Sedgefield Community Hospital, you will work Monday - Friday08:30-16:30.Elements of the role will be patient facing, therefore youmust be able to communicate confidently and professionally with our servicesusers, their families and carers.This role is part of CDDFT community services therefore youmust be able to travel independently between trust sites and to patientproperties, transporting items of equipment where required.If you would like to find out more about this role pleasecontact Sally Irvine (Wheelchair Services Clinical Team Lead) on oremail *PLEASE NOTE CERTIFICATES FOR ALL ESSENTIAL

Main duties of the job
County Durham & Darlington Wheelchair Service providesspecialised assessment & provision of equipment for adults & childrenwith mobility, postural & pressure care needs.The post holder will be responsible for supporting the dayto day running of the service, providing administrative support, undertakingclinical duties and coordinating stock management. Duties will includesupporting the administrative team with tasks such as appointment bookings,ordering and receipting in of goods.Attending care homes to complete equipment audits, handingover equipment to service users, providing demonstration and instruction onuse.Organisation and safe storage of stock, responsible forensuring that health, safety and infection control standards are met. Timelyand correct disposal of waste and returned items.The post holder will be expected to actively contribute toservice development including use of new and innovative technologies.The post holder will have excellent customerservice skills as they will be responsible for liaising with service users,families and professionals, at times providing direct clinical care andsupporting clinicians in clinics and on community visits.
