Job description
Support a small, caring NHS practice as a part-time Admin Assistant at Gilberdyke Health Centre in Brough (HU15). You’ll split your time between reception and administration, handling appointment booking, prescription requests, patient registrations, scanning hospital correspondence into records, assisting with clinics such as flu and Covid, and responding to medical report requests. The role suits organised, compassionate people with good IT and communication skills; previous medical experience or knowledge of clinical READ codes is helpful but not essential. Confidentiality, adherence to health & safety and infection-control procedures, and the willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check are required.
This permanent, part-time post sits within a friendly rural practice of around 6,100 patients and a supportive team of 30, including GP partners, ANPs and nursing staff — ideal for women seeking flexible hours that fit family or caring responsibilities and for carers looking to transfer their people skills into admin. There’s scope for training and development, a strong emphasis on equality and dignity, and pay will be commensurate with experience.
