Kirkby Health Centre is a busy GP surgery situated in the centre of Kirkby in Ashfield.We are looking to recruit a admin assistant/receptionist to work as part of our team. The position is 20 hours per week over 4 days and occasional Saturdays, however, you will need to be flexible to change.All applicants must have administration

, good keyboard skills and be able to work to a high standard. Previous

of working in a medical environment would be preferable but not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.The role includes dealing with patients face to face and on the telephone, data input, prescriptions, typing of referrals and all other administration duties.This is a temporary post which may lead to a permanent position.Customer service and patient care is important within this role as we aim to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Job Title Admin Assistant/ReceptionistPost HolderJOB PURPOSETo provide a helpful, efficient and comprehensive reception and administration service for staff, patients and visitors to the practice, working within agreed policies and procedures.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES1. To deal with enquiries from patients, visitors, other Healthcare professionals and outside agencies, providing information, taking messages2. To organise appointments for clinical staff.3. To process requests for prescriptions as per procedures.4. To process internal and external mail.5. To prepare clinic notes for nurses6. To update computer patients records following attendance in surgery, clinics and hospital appointments7. To organise transport according to protocol8. To follow procedures to ensure patient follow up9. To ensure home visits and messages are recorded in the appropriate way10. To ensure patient confidentiality11. To implement the out of hours message service12. To help ensure safety and security, both personal and property including patients records and prescriptions and equipment13. To provide clerical duties including audio typing, scanning, data entry, photocopying, faxing, filing and disposal of confidential waste14. To ensure all electronic referrals and discharges are processed15. To process electronic pathology links16. To participate in training events relevant to the post and for the enhancement of services provided by the practice17. To provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence and sickness18.
