Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Assistant Psychologist in Oaklands our Acute mental health ward based in Chichester. This is new role that recognises the importance of psychological input to make inpatient admissions more therapeutic and to support timely discharges.Oaklands Wards is a busy Adult Acute Mental Health ward with a well established, passionate and motivated MDT. We strive to deliver care is that is personalised, and collaborative. We work with people with a range of complex mental health needs so our care needs to be autism and trauma informed, where people are engaged and occupied and given a sense of hope for their future.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist with
Experience
of working with adults with complex needs in a mental healthcare setting to support the acute psychology team and to enhance the psychological care of patients in the service.You will work under the supervision of a qualified HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist to provide assessment and delivery of evidenced-based psychological interventions to individuals and groups. You will be an instrumental part of the ward team and will be involved in working closely with your interdisciplinary colleagues.

We will provide you with regular high-quality supervision from a qualified Psychologist/Psychological Therapist and the opportunity to develop skills relevant to applying for doctorate level training. We have excellent links with local training courses and a substantive inhouse CPD programme where you will have the opportunity to link in with other assistant psychologists working within the Trust
