Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for conscientious, enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate to join the Gastroenterology Department at Watford General Hospital with cross-site cover when required.
You will be providing efficient administration support to a highly specialised Gastroenterology team in an innovative department, ensuring that every patient receives the most appropriate administrative support, having taken into account their individual clinical needs whilst adhering to NHS targets.
This job may involve cross-site working when required.
This post is 37.5 hours per week (5 days per week Monday- Friday)
The successful applicant will provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service to the Hepatology Consultant and Nursing Team, Gastroenterology Secretarial team and multi-disciplinary team; possessing the essential qualifications outlined in the attached Person Specification.
You will need to have excellent communicational, organisational and advanced I.T skills and be able to work meeting deadlines and targets.

OPERATIONAL
The post holder must be fully conversant and competent in the features of the administration system which supports all aspects of the managing outpatient hepatology appointments -booking/cancelling/ rescheduling hepatology.
The post holder will be expected to have full knowledge of the contents of the Patient Access Policy.
Be responsible for checking and managing generic email inbox when required.
Be responsible for data entry of fibroscan waiting list cards onto the system and scheduling or re-scheduling firbroscan procedure date and monitoring request list.
Be responsible for intended procedure to be correctly entered onto the system.
Be responsible for the quality and integrity of information concerning patients kept on systems
To be responsible for monitoring all DNAs and rescheduling appointments when required.
To be responsible for calling all patients prior to appointment date to confirm attendance.
To be responsible for liaising with outpatient department if any clinics need to be cancelled or ad hock clinics need to be requested.
