Job description
At Little Bushey Surgery in Bushey (WD23) you’ll work 20 hours per week across Monday to Friday as a Care Coordinator in a friendly NHS GP practice serving over 6,000 patients. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, welcoming people on arrival, managing the waiting area, answering and triaging phone calls, and scheduling appointments for GPs and allied clinicians. The role also covers medical secretarial and administrative duties—typing correspondence, handling referrals, keeping patient records up to date, processing consent forms and paperwork—always maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data-protection standards. This is a permanent, part‑time post with a pro‑rata salary of £30,000–£33,000 (depending on experience, inclusive of employer contributions), and the practice offers training and opportunities for ongoing development within a warm, supportive team environment.
This position will appeal to organised, compassionate people—especially women and carers—who enjoy working with the public and want a role that combines administrative skill with hands‑on patient contact. Candidates must hold NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), have excellent English, first‑class customer service and telephone manner, strong IT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) and the ability to multi‑task in a busy setting; prior experience in a medical environment and familiarity with EMIS/eRS are desirable but full training is provided.
