At Westbury on Trym Primary Care Centre in Bristol (BS9) this Care Navigator role is the frontline, people‑focussed post that keeps the practice running smoothly. You will welcome and direct patients, manage appointment throughput both in person and on the phone, process requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, signpost to the most appropriate services, liaise with primary and secondary care and external agencies, and provide occasional cover for colleagues — duties may include opening or locking the building and handling messages. This is a fixed‑term, part‑time role (4 months) paying £12.60 an hour, typically 22.25 hours per week Monday to Friday within 07:15–19:00; you must be available for one early or late shift each week, with opportunities for extra hours and occasional Saturday cover.

The post is ideal for someone with a calm, caring manner, excellent spoken and written English, good IT skills and a warm telephone manner — previous experience in primary care or customer service is useful but full training and support are provided. You’ll be part of a supportive team of GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, students and administrators working from a modern village practice that values development and a healthy work–life balance; a DBS check is required.
