Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urology department/Ophthalmology department for a Clinic Coordinator to join our team.You will be part of a well-established team in a very busy department, your role is to manage and monitor clinics and support the managerial team and secretaries with clinic related queries.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of this role include:Referral management - use of PCS & the NHS e-Referral systemScheduling of outpatient appointmentsManagement of waiting listsMonitoring the Telephone Reminder Service (TRS)Managing Referral to Treatment (RTT) patient pathways in line with Trust targetsMonitor New and Follow up appointmentsMonitoring Nurse/Inpatient referralsAmending clinic templatesReviewing clinic slot utilisationAmending clinical activity in line with RotaHandling internal/external appointment enquiriesThe successful applicant will have:Excellent accuracy, organisational and communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsBe a team playerAble to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlinesA high level of concentration is required and attention to detail.Meticulous accuracy is essential in order to maintain service levels

You will work closely with the Support Manager to coordinate the various functions of Outpatients including reception cover, clinic capacity and provision of health records for use in clinic.The successful applicant will be expected to organize and priorities the workload of a small team to ensure an effective and efficient service is provided, escalating issues to Team Leader and management team where appropriate.The successful applicant will possess the ability to exercise initiative suitable to the role to ensure all urgent patients are appointed in a timely manner in line with the Patient Access policy, and clinic capacity is utilised to its full potential.Good communication skills are essential as the post holder will be expected to deal with enquiries from patients and healthcare professionals both internal and external to the department.Previous
