Crisis Support Worker with Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, based at the Elgar Unit, Newtown Hospital, Worcester (WR5). This hands‑on role suits compassionate carers and women looking to make a real difference in mental health crisis care: you will take urgent calls via a dedicated helpline, provide telephone advice and professional signposting, support clinical assessments and deliver bespoke face‑to‑face crisis interventions — including care for people detained under Section 136. The post is band 3 (£24,937–£26,598 pro rata), permanent and available full‑time, part‑time or flexibly. Shifts cover days and waking nights across a 7‑day rota (including bank holidays), typically 13 shifts over four weeks, and some county travel may be required. You must have the right to work in the UK (the Trust does not routinely sponsor), a relevant Level 3 qualification (or Level 2 with a commitment to complete Level 3), experience of manual handling and working with people with mental health needs, and you will have to complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks; a DBS check is required.

You’ll join a responsive, trauma‑informed team that prioritises staff wellbeing through regular supervision, reflective practice and clear routes for training and career progression — ideal if you want meaningful work alongside family or caring responsibilities. Benefits include generous leave (27 days plus bank holidays, rising to 33 with long service), an NHS pension, enhanced pay for unsocial hours, strong maternity/paternity/adoption support, staff networks and wellbeing offers.
