Part‑time Domestic Assistant roles are available within the Facilities Team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, based in Rotherham (S60). You will work on wards and department areas – including some off‑site premises – delivering high standards of cleaning in line with the National Standards of Cleaning. Day‑to‑day duties include following requests from ward and department managers, maintaining hygiene across clinical areas, reporting issues to supervisors and management, and covering other team members as needed. The role is practical and physical: you must be able to carry out moving and handling tasks, work at heights and operate floor machines. Basic numeracy and literacy are required, previous non‑domestic or care‑setting cleaning experience is desirable, and the post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Training will be provided and you will be supported to work towards an NVQ in Cleaning where appropriate.
This vacancy will suit reliable, organised people who can use their initiative and work independently — particularly women balancing caring responsibilities who want flexible, part‑time hours that make a real difference to patients’ care environment. The post is permanent, Band 2 (salary £24,465 pro rata) with flexible working patterns and the supportive culture of a Trust that values being Ambitious, Caring and Together.
