Job description
This HCA/Frailty HCA role at May Lane Surgery in Dursley (GL11) blends clinic-based clinical duties with community frailty work. You will deliver HCA clinics and support our Frailty Team by carrying out venepuncture/phlebotomy, ECGs, blood pressures, urinalysis, diabetic foot and wound checks, NHS health checks, long‑term condition reviews and B12 injections under PSD, and assist with minor ops. The post also includes home visits to assess and support frail patients, completing advanced care plans, liaising with MDTs and local services, recognising and escalating changes in condition, and routine responsibilities such as sample processing, stock and fridge temperature checks, infection‑control practice and chaperoning.
Permanent, full‑time or part‑time hours are available, with pay at £12.69 per hour. The role suits an experienced and personable healthcare assistant with a phlebotomy qualification, good written and verbal communication, accurate clinical record‑keeping and the ability to use your own initiative; an own car and clean driving licence are required. Experience with SystmOne, primary care or elderly care and HCA Level 2 are desirable. May Lane Surgery is a friendly three‑partner practice serving around 9,500 patients on the edge of the Cotswolds, offering a supportive multidisciplinary team, commitment to safeguarding and staff development, and DBS checks for successful applicants. If you’re a caring practitioner — particularly women job seekers and carers looking for flexible, community‑focused work — click the “Apply Now” button to apply via jobsincare.com.
