Job description
Make a real difference to people living with COPD in Abbey Wood with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. This permanent, part-time Healthcare Assistant role (Band 3, £29,651–£31,312 pro rata) is a job share for two days per week within the Community COPD team, supporting Matrons, Associate Matrons and Physiotherapists. You will split your time between patient-facing care and essential administration — measuring observations (oxygen saturations, BP, weight), managing a small caseload, completing home risk assessments for oxygen patients and assisting with pulmonary rehabilitation sessions. Please note we are currently unable to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this post; the role also requires an enhanced DBS check and a full driving licence for community visits.
This opportunity suits experienced carers, returning professionals or anyone seeking a part-time role that blends hands-on support with organisational duties. You’ll use RIO for records, handle telephone enquiries, maintain clinicians’ diaries, book appointments, pick up samples, and keep the team’s equipment database up to date — working closely in a friendly multidisciplinary team that values kindness and fairness. If you’re organised, calm under pressure and enjoy supporting people in their own homes and clinics, click the "Apply Now" button alongside this advert to begin your application via jobsincare.com.
